2011 Belmont Shore Christmas Parade

More than 60 staff and family volunteers including LBS Financial Credit Union President and CEO, Jeff Napper joined together on December 3, 2011 to participate in the 2011 Belmont Shore Christmas Parade in Long Beach.

LBS Financial Employees Make Holiday Toy Donation

LBS Financial Credit Union employees donated a check for $700, hundreds of toys, gift cards and infant basic care items to the children of Children Today during their Staff Holiday Breakfast on December 14, 2011.

LBS Financial Employees Participate in California Coastal Clean Up

Approximately 40 LBS Financial employees, friends and family participated in the California Coastal Clean Up in Long Beach on September 17, 2011. The Credit Union participates in the Adopt-a-Beach program and cleans a portion of the Long Beach coastline four times per year. September 17th was a special clean up day for the entire California Coast and employees participated in the clean up from 9 am - 12 pm on Saturday.

LBS Financial Donates School Supplies to Three Districts

LBS Financial Credit Union worked with three local school districts this summer to collect school supplies for the 2011-2012 school year. The Credit Union partnered with Long Beach Unified School District and the Long Beach Education Foundation (donation to Stephens Middle School), Bellflower Unified School District (donation to four elementary schools) and ABC Unified School District (donation to the Child Development Department) to launch its first annual Adopt-a-School Program. Members of the Credit Union and the public dropped off supplies throughout the summer, supplemented by purchased items from LBS Financial employees and the Credit Union. A special thank you to our Members for supporting this project and helping us make an impact this year!

LBS Financial Awards $1,000 Scholarship

LBS Financial awarded a $1,000 scholarship that could be applied for by any LBS Financial Member in their final year of high school or first three years of college.  One winner for the $1,000 scholarship is selected by a Credit Union employee committee each year. Alexander Tran, who will be attending Brown Universtiy in the fall, was selected as the 2011 Scholarship Winner.

LBS Financial's Home Buyer's Seminar

LBS Financial offered four free Home Buyer's Seminars conducted by Loan Consultant, Josie Truong during the months of April through July 2011. Members who attended the entire one hour seminar received a coupon for a free appraisal ($350+value) that may be used on a home loan purchase or refinance through LBS Financial, at close of escrow (effective through September 15, 2011).

LBS Financial Donated Neckties to CSULB'S Career Development Program

LBS Financial donated more than 100 men's necklties to CSULB's Career Development Program as part of the Credit Union's employee tie exchange program that suports and reinforces professional appearance in the workplace.

LBS Financial Awards 32 Student Scholarships

Each year, LBS Financial encourages local are high schools, adult schools and community colleges to participate in their scholarship program by recommending students for an award. This year, 32 scholarships were awarded to high school, college and adult school students.

Over 50 volunteers consisting of LBS Financial employees, family and friends spent up to 2 hours on Saturday, March 5th to make Long Beach a better place, collecting over 34 bags of trash that would otherwise wash into the ocean.

LBS Financial Employees and Members donated 1,240 eyeglasses, 107 cell phones and 16 hearing aids to Lions Club International from September, 2009 through June, 2010.

LBS Financial in the 2010 AIDS Walk Long Beach

LBS Financial staff, their friends and family joined the California Credit Union League's (CCUL) Beach Cities Chapter team in the 2010 AIDS Walk Long Beach on June 5, 2010. Together as a team, they raised over $5,000 to donate to the Long Beach and South Bay HIV agencies.
